Every month, I highlight a few family-friendly happenings you may want to mark on your calendar.
Sometimes these will be events that you need tickets to or RSVP for – in which case, in advance is always better. So, here’s 5 fun family-friendly things I am excited about in March!

🌸 Spring Farms are Opening! Blessington Farms re-opens on March 4 for the spring season, Froberg’s Farm Strawberry Festival is set for March 11-19, & Dewberry Farm Spring Fest begins March 25.
🖼 Museum of Fine Arts Houston‘s New Beginnings Spring Festival – March 5, 1-5pm. A free, family-friendly festival welcomes spring with celebratory traditions from across the Middle East and Asia. Free museum admission plus music, dance, art activities, free snacks from HEB, food trucks, & more. The museum is open from 12:30-6pm on Sundays.
🐮 Rodeo Houston – Runs through March 19. Don’t forget the free Wednesday admission mornings: kids & seniors are free 3/1 and 3/15 until noon; everyone is free on 3/8 until noon.
🚌 Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus: The Musical – Main Street Theater‘s fun, kid-friendly one hour performance runs March 14-18. Note: must be age 3+ (no babies are allowed). You can also join for a Pigeon Party on March 15 at 1:00pm! Pigeon’s favorite food is hot dogs, so of course, there will be hot dogs! Plus face-painting and crafts. This is a separate event from the performance that day. Tickets available here.
🏀 Men’s College Basketball Final Four – Lots of fun events as Houston hosts the Final Four this year! Fan Fest at the George R. Brown Convention Center March 31-April 2, “Final Four Friday” at NRG March 31 with interactive activities and open team practices – put this weekend on your calendar and stay tuned here for more info and details.
