It’s the end of summer – here are 5 fun things to do in August with your kiddos!

Every month, I highlight a few family-friendly happenings you may want to mark on your calendar! Sometimes these will be events that you need tickets to or RSVP for – in which case, in advance is always better. So, here’s 5 fun things I am excited about for August!
Support Kids’ Meals with Children’s Museum of Houston – 8/1-8/31 – All month, stop by the Kidtropolis Art Academy at Children’s Museum of Houston for all the supplies to decorate lunch bags that will be filled with food & delivered to hungry kids across Houston through Kids’ Meals Houston. Or, decorate your bags at home and drop off at the Children’s Museum! A perfect volunteer activity for kiddos of all ages.

Astronaut Days at Space Center Houston – 8/3-8/6 – Meet astronauts, play astronaut BINGO, hear about living on the International Space Station and more! Included in general admission and free for members, have breakfast with an astronaut for an additional fee
Celebrate Hermann Park – 8/6 – Celebrate the 180th birthday of Hermann Park’s namesake, George Hermann, with $1.80 railroad tickets from 10am-2pm for kiddos, $1.80 food specials from Ginger Kale, and free frozen treats from GELU Italian ice. Also – free crafts, games, and face painting!
National Aviation Day at Lone Star Flight Museum – 8/19 – from 10am-2pm, a day all about flight! Explore inside the real planes, do hands-on activities, and more! Included with general admission
Heights Kids Day of Music Back to School Bash – 8/26 – From 10am-2pm, join this free celebration at Stomping Grounds celebrating back to school!
