5 Fun Things To Do in February With Kids in Houston

February 2, 2024 by Lindsay

So many events in February! Lots to look forward to this month and here are five fun things to do in February in Houston with kids!

Get Up and Dance at Houston Symphony – February 3 10am & 11:30am – In this concert for kids, explore different dance rhythms that come from all around the world. Get ready to move, shake, and twirl! Houston Symphony also does a great job of keeping the concert short and engaging plus activities before the show.

Discovery Green Roller Rink February 9 – March 31 – Yess you read that right! The ice skating rink at Discovery Green is transforming into an outdoor roller rink! Tickets go on sale soon for this fun and unique experience downtown

Asia Society Texas Lunar New Year Celebration – February 10 11am-4pm – Lunar New Year festival with all ages arts and crafts, lion dances, ticketed music and dance performances and more *free admission, registration required for timed building entry*

Family Gras! at Mardi Gras Galveston – February 11 – Families are encouraged to come out and enjoy these family-friendly afternoon parades for free! 12pm – Shriners Hospitals for Children & Sunshine Kids Parade, 1:30pm – Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Parade, 3:00pm- Mardi Gras! Firefighters Children’s Parade. Their website has lots of helpful details including parade routes.

Rodeo Time – I always think of this as a March event, but it really kicks off in February! The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo BBQ Cook-Off begins Feb 22-24, Trail Rides February 23, Rodeo Parade February 24, and the Rodeo itself runs February 27-March 17

What are you looking forward to for February?
