Full credit for this fun find goes to the Instagram account @houstonsgotspice – they featured this restaurant and I knew my car-crazy one would be obsessed! I was right – he loved Impero Italiano!
Italian restaurant Impero Italiano is in the Memorial area and has SUCH fun decor – multiple cars and Vespas on the inside and one outside the restaurant too! My dude and I said it’s Luigi & Guido’s restaurant (the Italian cars from the movie Cars)! Parking is easy and free, with lots available in the shopping center. There is also a lot of car and soccer memorabilia in the restaurant.
I was happy to go for the fun decor alone but THE PIZZA. It has the perfect, thin but chewy crust. It is SO good – which makes sense because the owners are from Italy! A top five pizza for me, for sure. Also, the folks there were super sweet to dude and promised to teach him some Italian. We stayed for gelato, too (served out of a 🚘)!
We came early on a weeknight and there was no wait. I have heard it gets very busy on weekends, so keep that in mind.
