If it’s a weekend and your kids have been up since 5:30, a 10am or 11am opening time is farrrr away. What to do in the early morning in Houston?! Here are a few ideas!

⏰ Check your member hours! Many museums have special early hours 1-2 times a month for members only. These include Space Center Houston (upcoming member hours: May 13 8-10am & 8:30am early entry May 27-29) and Houston Museum of Natural Science (upcoming: May 13 at 8am, and is (most) second Saturdays of each month). Know of others? Drop them in the comments below!!
⏰ Farmers markets! Many open early – Houston Farmers Market is open everyday at 6am and Urban Harvest Market, open (nearly) every Saturday, begins at 8am.
⏰ Donut runs! This is a fun one if you’re up for a treat. Our favorite River Oaks Donuts opens at 6am and many have early starts around town.
⏰ Explore new parks! Many open at sunrise or early in the morning – start a list in your Notes app of cool new ones you’d like to go to. Scroll my feed for ideas or send me a DM!
⏰ Some of Houston’s most popular places open at 9, and often you’ll want to arrive earlier for best parking. These include Houston Zoo, Color Factory, Houston Botanic Garden, and Houston Museum of Natural Science.
