The Woodlands has so much to do for families and is 45 minutes – 1 hour drive from Houston. Many hotels, including The Woodlands Resort, Woodlands Waterway Marriott, Westin at The Woodlands, and Hyatt Centric The Woodlands. We love The Woodlands trolley and the swan boats!
Galveston is about 1 hour away from Downtown Houston. So many resorts to choose from on Island, including the Grand Galvez, Moody Gardens, and the San Luis Resort. From the Pleasure Pier to the Moody Gardens pyramids, Galveston State Park and the Strand, there is a lot going on! Not to mention all the holiday themed events like The Polar Express and Holiday in the Gardens.
Hyatt Regency Lost Pines is a favorite for the whole family, about 2-2.5 hours away. Lots of on-property activities from golf and pools to horseback riding and fishing! They also have a kids club (age 3 and up) on certain days.
La Cantera Resort is outside of San Antonio, approximately 3-3.5 hours from Houston. This beautiful resort offers terrific amenities from pools to golf to a wonderful spa. Kids Club is also offered on certain days, ages 4-12.
Also outside of San Antonio, JW Marriott Hill Country is about a 3-3.5 hour drive. Chock full of family entertainment, they are also putting a lot of effort into very cool holiday programing and lights! Kids Night Out is offered for those ages 4-12.
Cinnamon Shore, near Corpus Christi, is around 3.5-4 hours from Houston. Cutest beach town in Texas! Lots of on-site activities like movie nights, restaurants, and pools. They will also provide all beach amenities you need – from chairs to bonfires!
