Great Deals for Galveston Museum Day This Weekend

January 26, 2024 by Lindsay

Galveston has SO many fun spots for kids – we really enjoy heading to the Island! AND if you haven’t been lately – no time better than THIS weekend, January 27-28, 2024. This weekend is the annual Galveston Museum Day!

This weekend, many museums in Galveston are either free admission or buy one, get one free admission. Luckily for us, for most of the museums below, the deals last both Saturday + Sunday and not just one day! Our favorite picks:

  • Galveston Children’s Museum: Buy one, get one free admission Jan 27-28. We love this museum for a huge variety of activities, toys, imaginative play, and more.
  • Galveston Naval Museum: Buy one, get one free admission Jan 27-28. Visit a real submarine and a real naval ship, plus there is a park nearby with a playground.
  • Galveston Railroad Museum: Buy one, get one free admission Jan 27-28. Check out the many real trains and the museum in the old Galveston railroad station.
  • Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum:  Buy one, get one free admission Jan 27-28. Visit a retired offshore drilling rig, see all the equipment, and learn the science behind deep-sea operations.

Other participating venues (full details for all found on the Galveston website here):
“And Still We Rise… Galveston’s Juneteenth Story” Exhibit
Galveston Arts Center
Galveston Historic Seaport & 1877 Tall Ship Elissa
Moody Mansion
Nia Cultural Center
Rosenberg Library
Ship to Shore at the Galveston Historic Seaport
The Bryan Museum
The Grand 1894 Opera House
