Every month, I highlight a few family-friendly happenings you may want to mark on your calendar — and to know right at the start of the month that you have something fun coming up!
Sometimes these will be events that you need tickets to or RSVP for – in which case, advance is always better. So, here’s 5 fun things I am excited about for February!
Friday, February 10-Sunday, February 12 – Sesame Street Live is coming to NRG! Join your favorite characters (even an optional Elmo and Friends Meet & Greet with the VIP ticket add-on) for a fun performance! Showtimes on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.
Friday, February 10 5pm – The Rink: Rolling at Discovery Green opening day! Enjoy five weeks (Feb 10 – March 17) of roller-skating fun and special events at downtown Houston’s only outdoor roller rink!
Saturday, February 11 10am-5pm – The Biggest Picnic in Texas at the Grand Opening Weekend of Memorial Park’s new Land Bridge & Prairie! This free, family-friendly event features live music, entertainment, special activities for kids, and giveaways. Picnic baskets with provisions courtesy of @heb available for free while they last – or BYOP (bring your own picnic)!
Saturday, February 25 10am & 11:30am – Blast Off! with Houston Symphony. Buckle up for an outer-space adventure with a special kid-focused symphony experience, with action-packed music from Star Wars, E.T., The Planets, and more. Plus, enjoy free kid-friendly activities, including the popular Instrument Petting Zoo.
Saturday, February 25 10am-4pm – Winter Discovery Day at Rosenberg Railroad Museum. FREE admission for this special day! In addition all their cool offerings, you’ll also find a snow pit, themed activities, and a Museum Open House!
