We love visiting the “train park” in the Houston Heights! Have you been yet?

While we always call it the “train park,” the real name of this park is Donovan Park! It’s located at 700 Heights Boulevard.
Donovan Park is huge and has three very cool structures – all wooden! There is the train area plus two big playground areas with lots of running space, areas to play hide and go seek, slides, and more. The wooden play areas have lots of variety, and are great for a variety of ages. There is also shade available, which is so important in the warm months! The park’s grassy areas are also nice for snacks or a park picnic. No dogs are allowed. We can usually find free street parking right outside the park. The Park is fenced in, which is great.

I also love that Donovan Park is right across from Heights Mercantile, making it a great location to pair a meal or snack with playground time. Some days we make a stop at Cloud 10 Creamery for ice cream, or grab lunch at Local Foods – each is about a 2-3 minute walk from the park. You can also pair a visit with the Heights Mercantile Sunday farmers market, held twice a month!
Have y’all been to the train park yet 🚂?
