Six Kid-Friendly Houston Farms To Visit This Spring

March 26, 2023 by Lindsay

Spring farms are opening! Such a fun time – and let’s all keep our fingers crossed for nice sunny (and not too hot or too cold!) days.

P-6 Farms, last year!

We love visiting these Houston farms for special events, and for any time! Some of the farms are open year-round, others only at certain times. Read on to see which farms are perfect for your family!

Dewberry Farm, Brookshire – open March 25-26, April 1-2, April 7-8 (Closed 4/9 – Easter), & April 15-16. Over 30 things to do including the barnyard, a carousel, train rides and more. Easter Bunny visits & egg hunts April 1-2 & 7-8. Age 3 and up are $22.95 online, seniors $19.95 (you can purchase at the door but it’s more expensive).

P-6 Farms, Montgomery – Their “Easter Farm” days are April 1-2 and April 7-8. $15.95 for ages 3 and up, online tickets only. Admission includes entrance into the farm and access to Easter Bunny Visits, Easter Egg Hunts, Easter photo-ops, roller coaster, vintage carnival rides, farm animals, cow train, Texas high roller, jumping pillow, roller slide, & more. Ps. later in the summer, they will have a “Blooms & Berries Fest” – dates TBA!

Blessington Farms, Simonton – Sat Mar 25, 2023 – Sun May 28, 2023. Farm Funland is open 9am-4pm, with some activities closing at 3:30pm. Check the website or social media for Farm updates before making the trip (they do close due to weather etc). Blueberry and blackberry picking in April/May (it has not begun yet). General admission is $24 for everyone ages 2+, seniors are $18, military and first responders get a discount in-person.

Old MacDonald’s Farm, Humble – This farm is open year round (we enjoyed their pumpkin festival!). So many animals here, even pony rides, and my dude is obsessed with the train ride and the playground. $16.80 for everyone over 18 months, military/senior discount. All tickets sold in person.

Froberg’s Farm, Alvin – This farm is open year-round and can get very busy at strawberry picking time! Right now they have strawberries and sunflowers to pick. Admission for 🍓 picking is $3 per person ages 2+, plus $2 buckets. Read our strawberry picking post here!

Atkinson Farms, Spring – Open March 1 – October 31, this seems like more of a market plus pick you own as items are in season. This is the only one I haven’t been to of these – let me know your thoughts on it if you have been!

Which are your favorite Houston farms? Ps. Details are current but subject to change!
