The wait is over! The Galapagos exhibit at Houston Zoo is here.

This exhibit is so cool! We absolutely loved it from the start – the sea lions seem so happy in their beautiful new home. Next were the enormous tortoises, which you can see up close. These are found in the outdoor sections of the exhibit, and then you enter the indoor parts.
Being mostly indoors, the Galapagos exhibit is perfect for our hot Houston summers! Indoors, there are several sections including a huge aquarium with all types of fish, sting rays, and even sharks. At the very end are the highly anticipated penguins. So very cool to have penguins here at our own Zoo!

The Galapagos exhibit has been a big hit for the Zoo – so, as always with Zoo events, arrive earlyyyy to secure good parking on weekends! There may be a wait to enter the exhibit so early in the day is generally better for that too. I would note that some of the transition areas/tunnels inside the exhibit are a bit dark and that could be a little scary if you have a child who is nervous about dark areas, so just be aware!
The new exhibit is included with admission at the Zoo, and members do not need reservations for entrance.
