It’s Rodeo Time and one of the top questions every year is: are there things for smaller kiddos? Read on for my Rodeo Houston favorites with little kids!

Rodeo can seem intimidating but it is so much fun for the littles! Our absolute favorite is Fun on the Farm for three years running! It is a pretend farm, and kids gather eggs, milk pretend cows, pick pretend veggies, and more. At the end, the kids bring all their items to a Farmer’s Market and earn pretend money – which they trade in for a real snack!
Of course, there is also the Junction Carnival and rides and AgVenture’s many fun things: baby animals, exhibits, and more. The livestock shows in the smaller arenas are great for short attention spans and the dog show and mutton busting are always hits. We also enjoy the shopping and checking out the trucks and tractors on display!
There are also a few things you can do to make the day smoother:
- You can bring a stroller! Feel free to load it up with toys, treats, change of clothes etc.
- Stop by Guest Services and pick up a “First Rodeo” button if it is your little’s first rodeo
- Download the Rodeo Houston app for maps, a schedule for each day, locations of nursing and family rooms, hours, and more. I also bought my Grounds tickets through the app!
- You can bring in food and drinks (no alcohol)
- Kids 2 and under are free
Have y’all rodeo-ed this year?
