Space Center Houston is one of the city’s most well known and popular attractions. Is there enough to do there for littles? Definitely yes!

First things first: download the Space Center Houston app before your visit. Buy your tickets, see the day’s hours, and even reserve a tram tour all from the app. The app also has a handy map and a list of all the events taking place that day.
It is easy to walk into the Main Lobby at Space Center Houston and think that’s the bulk of the museum. It is NOT! You need to walk through the theater (catch a show on the way!) to get to the Starship Gallery and Independence Plaza. In my opinion, these are the coolest parts of the whole Center! The space shuttle on top of the airplane in itself is a wow moment for both kids and adults, and getting to enter them in Independence Plaza is an awesome experience. Definitely take time in Starship Gallery to check out the awesome displays, like the Mercury space capsule and Skylab!

One of the coolest parts of Space Center Houston are the tram tours. There are three to chose from most days, including a tour of the astronaut training facility and a tour of the real mission control. (Yes, the “Houston” they meant as in “Houston, we have a problem”). The Mission Control tour is very cool -they essentially re-enact the moon landing just as Mission Control experienced it!

Space Center Houston has good snacks, all-right hot food, and a big area to eat. There are so many things to see you could easily spend a half or full day, depending on energy levels and attention span. Have you been to Space Center Houston with your littles yet?
