Yes, you can pick your own strawberries in March here in Houston! We headed to Froberg’s Farm to pick our own. Here’s what you need to know about picking strawberries with littles!

🍓 I call the Farm before I go out to make sure picking is happening that day. Some days picking may be cancelled or close early (for instance, one day picking started at 9 and then I saw on Instagram that they closed for picking at 11:30am). Calling ahead can help avoid disappointment!
🍓 At Froberg’s, it costs $3 to pick your own for everyone ages 3 and up. You also must pick with a Froberg bucket, which costs $2. If you have a Froberg bucket from previous years, you can bring that and you don’t have to buy a new one. I bought two so the kiddos didn’t argue over the bucket! The strawberries are $4 a pound.
🍓 It was really easy to pick the strawberries, even littles can do it! It was fun for them to find the ripe strawberries and decide which ones to pick. Froberg’s will also have other pick your own crops as the season goes on, and other farms offer different pick your own opportunities, too!
🍓 Wear boots in case of mud. It wasn’t very muddy today but my kids both found the muddy spots anyway!
🍓 Froberg’s Farm had signs up that they will hold their spring Strawberry Festival March 11-19th (aka over spring break!). This will include pick your own strawberries, plus activities and games!
🍓 Parking is free on site, and I love browsing their store. We picked up trail mix and a cookie from the bakery, plus they have tons of fresh produce, bakery, meats, and more. No dogs are allowed. Credit cards accepted.
Have you done pick your own before? This was our first time but we will be back!
