Everyone loves a playground with a theme! Here are 6 fun playgrounds for kids in Houston, with cool theming.

Donovan Park, 700 Heights Blvd. This train park in the Heights is a favorite for so many kiddos! The huge wooden playground, complete with wooden train, is really cool. I also like that it’s right across the street from many different restaurants at Heights Mercantile. It is on a busy street but has a fence.

Fire Truck Park, 3743 Garnet. I don’t know any kid who doesn’t like fire truck park! The big fire truck is just the start – lots of swings, a play house, big playground set, and more. Also fenced in.

River Oaks “Pumpkin” Park, 3600 Locke. Every kid’s imagination goes to work with the big pumpkin carriage at River Oaks Park. Plus two big playground sets, swings and more, entirely fenced.
Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, Evelyn’s Park, 4400 Bellaire Blvd. Evelyn’s Park has just about every amenity imaginable – splash pad, playground equipment, a reading area and chairs, green space, a restaurant, anddddd a Mad Tea Party?! In the corner there is a larger than life tea party you can join. Super unique!
Travis Elementary School SPARK Park, 3311 Beauchamp. *SPARK Park hours rules apply. Park open to public outside of school hours.* This park is part of an elementary school playground, so definitely watch younger children! It is dinosaur themed and has dinosaur bones plus a normal playground, green space, and more. I have also heard it is about to get a renovation, so make sure it is open before visiting!
🚂 Katy Play Station, 5611 Gardenia Ln, Katy. This huge, accessible park has a great train theme. It is really modern and cool!
