When Bebe was 4 months old, I convinced Mr. LOTG we should all head to Bermuda for a last hurrah for the end of my maternity leave. Friends, it was glorious.
An amazing thing about Bermuda is that is it soo close to the East Coast of the US, and there are lots of direct flights out of major East Coast cities, like Boston, Miami, New York, and Philadelphia. And in just a few hours, you come to this:

Where We Stayed

We checked into the Rosewood Bermuda for our stay on the island, and I will definitely be staying at Rosewood hotels more often: the service was outstanding and they were so family friendly!
I called the Rosewood before booking and talked with them about the layouts of various rooms. They were super helpful, and I selected a room that had a bit of a hallway near the door. We put the crib in the little hallway nook so we would not be too close to the baby or disturb him. It worked well!
Speaking of the crib, the hotel made Bebe (and his new parents) feel very welcome. Not only did they provide a crib, they also provided a baby bath tub, a set of baby bath amenities, a monitor, and a diaper pail. (They also asked if we needed a high chair, which we did not at that time.) I was extremely impressed. They also offer babysitting that you can book in advance.
The Rosewood also has golf privileges at the Tucker’s Point Golf Club – which is just gorgeous – and my husband took full advantage! We all enjoyed the many restaurants on-property, which made meal time so easy with a little one and meant we did not always have to venture off property close to bedtime.

What To Do in Bermuda
We spent a lot of our time leisurely enjoying the Rosewood: swimming in the pool, using the Rosewood’s private beach, and strolling the grounds. Bebe was napping twice a day at this stage, and was a great stroller napper. Most days we took one nap in the room, and one in the stroller on the go. Bermuda is one hour ahead of Eastern time, and that gave us a little later of a bedtime for Bebe (I typically don’t adjust Bebe fully to a new time zone if we are going East).

Mr. LOTG and I each spent one afternoon “off duty,” which I think is important for having a vacation actually feel like a vacation. My husband played golf on the beautiful course and the next day I had a spa afternoon at the lovely hotel spa.
We also spent one full day exploring the island, after we asked the Rosewood to set us up on a little day tour of the island with a driver. Fun fact: tourists cannot rent cars on Bermuda! But after seeing some of the tiny roads, I was fine with that.
The whole island of Bermuda is only about 20 miles wide, so you can do a lot in a day. We first checked out historic St. George – founded in the 1600s – and got a history lesson on the island. Then, we spent the afternoon strolling around the capital, Hamilton, while Bebe dozed. All over Bermuda we saw gorgeous views and the cutest pastel buildings.
Bermuda is also such a unique destination – did you know the white roofs on the houses and buildings are made of a special material and all collect rainwater that is turned into drinking water? I also love that they have so many local traditions, from the swizzle to Bermuda shorts to the America’s Cup race.

I have become a bit of a Bermuda evangelist since the trip – the combination of British charm and natural beauty really won me over (and, for pregnant mamas, Bermuda has never had Zika!). We can’t wait to come back and spend more time on lovely Bermuda!
