Winter Break is here! If you are looking for ways to get out of the house, I have ideas: 28 things to do over winter break in Houston with kids!

1. Catch Trains Over Texas or new holographic movie Dinosaur Discoveries at Houston Museum of Natural Science
2. Play in real snow at Children’s Museum Houston Dec 16 – Jan 7 (not on Dec 30-31, Jan 1) 
3.  Moody Gardens’ Holiday in the Gardens through Jan 6
4. Arts & crafts for kids at Museum of Fine Arts Houston Dec 26-29, Jan 2-5, free with admission (and kids 12 & under are free!)
5. Showings of Up at Museum of Fine Arts Houston Dec 27 2pm, Dec 29 2pm (free with admission)
6. Meet favorite Encanto characters at The Woodlands Children’s Museum Dec 28 10:30am-1:30pm
7. Join Levy Park for Kids Bingo Dec 21 & 28 4:30pm
8. Catch Houston Ballet’s The Nutcracker Dec 15-17, 19-24, 26 & 27 
9. Try out a new Nutcracker at Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet at Smart Financial Centre Dec 29
10. Check out Winter Colorland at Color Factory
11. Ice skate at Houston’s only outdoor skating rink Discovery Green daily through Jan 28
12. Catch the Houston Rockets at home, Dec 20, 22, 26, 27, 29, Jan 1, Jan 3, Jan 5
13. Check out the larger than life Chocolate Display at Hilton Americas through Dec 29 and the Christmas tree display at Avenida Houston
14. Santa still is ruling the roost at Santa’s Wonderland through Dec 30
